As a Geek, I find that too many people will happily call me a geek, yet then, surprisingly, not get the fact that us geeks, sometimes have trouble with "normal" things in life.

As an example, I was working building complex network solutions for a salesperson, when someone walked into my office and asked if I wanted to participate in the new office pool, for college football.  He was appalled when I shared with him that I don't watch college or pro football, and barely watch any other sports.

What did you expect? I'm a GEEK!, I know my area of expertise, and could care less about anything else...

Examples of **** I don't give a **** about:

  • Politics - it's a waste of time... we're ****** either way, it just depends if it's with lube, or sand filled vaseline.

  • Sports - another waste of time... who cares who won the game yesterday? it was a ******* GAME, it didn't effect my life either way.  I don't give a ****.

  • Horror Films - I don't need to be scared out of my mind to feel alive.  The world scares me enough.

As a geek, you need me... yet I don't need you.  Don't get upset when I dismiss you, and only 1/2 listen to you; I can do more with my mind in 20 seconds, than you do with yours in 2 days.

Get over it... we think faster, we are focused on our knowledge, and we enjoy our brains...
