i know exactly how you feel. if you want to ask her out face to face i'd call her and ask for some alone time. but if you don't want to do that make something from the heart. to ask my girlfriend out, i made a watercolor paingting for her and wrote how i felt about her on the back. i'm not saying go make a painting, but something hand made/ well thought out.

and oh .. its normal to be scared of being rejected.. that's part of it.. But at least you tried and just didn't shrugged it of.. :)
