In my teens, 1960's, I fell in love with the dark lash look that mascara afforded. After my first several strokes I was hooked and it wasn't long after that I bought and started using it daily. I didn't go overboard at first but as I became comfortable that no one noticed I would recoat with more making them darker, upper and lower lashes. Soon black liner was added and after many, many failed attempts I also mastered the fine line raccoon look. My future wife suggested a little color would set the look so shadow was now also lightly put on each morning. I'm now getting up 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour earlier to do my makeup routine and I'm also now getting comments, mostly from girls who like the fact that I want to enhance my appearance but the guys think I turned gay. One day a girl told me to hold still and slightly open my mouth, on went the lipstick and I couldn't wait to see what I looked like. On my way home that day I had to stop and purchase my very own tube. Well the rest is history and I continue to this day to put my face on first thing in the morning. I love makeup!
