I Am a Marine Corps Girlfriend
Why does watching the inauguration remind me that I am the girlfriend of a Marine? Because my boyfriend is currently down there working the inauguration. These last 2 weeks while they have been gearing up, curfews, extra formations I have had to constantly remind myself... I don't get my boyfriend to myself. He isn't a 9 to 5'er who is sitting at home this holiday... He has been up in his blues since 2am, in preparation.
He is standing out in the cold usher our dignitaries to their seats, and keeping guard. He is doing his job, and as I sit and watch on TV the Marines standing at attention, and doing their job.... there is a swell of pride in knowing that while the last 2 weeks have been crazy, There is a job to be done, and he is there.
