While I was in boot camp I really appreciated and cherished each letter received, for the first few weeks or so we did not receive any mail. I believe after that communication via mail, cell phone and email is more common today then when I was serving.

My suggestion would be to wait until he is stationed somewhere with an understanding of how long he be there before moving...

Also in the future if you decide to get married you would be become eligible for housing.

Hey!! my man just left to air force bmt last week. seeing that van pull away n not able to see it anymore broke my heart!! He will be able to text u if he's going to the meps station for the day then flight leaves the next day. that's how it went for my man. yea it sucks cause he also leaves straight to tech school after basic. he will be gone for abt 3 to 4 months. i dnt think they r as strict as basic n i think u can visit him while he's in tech. correct me if im wrong. n he got to call me after a few days of being there, but it was only 5 mins. u just have to be strong! =D

my boy friend is 18, i am 16. He is leaving for basic on july 20th then going to air born school. he is home for two weeks in between then goes to afghanistan, no one my age could ever understand what im gunna go through, when he comes home and gets stationed somewhere i will be in school still and cant go with him. people say i am too young to love him, but i know i do and want to be with him forever but i dont know if i am ready to go through this. i could never imagine breaking up just because he was in the army.

You are so right. If that were the case that would be what I would chose (the one year left in school). I still have at least two years left in school. I've dealt with long distance our whole relationship so I feel like bt wont be TERRIBLY hard. I mean it will still be hard. Just it could be worse. I just finally want to be with him! Its just i know the smart decision. I just don't know if i want to be smart.

I envy your situation though lol

Hey girl, my man is in bootcamp right now and after his training, which is 6 months, he'll get stationed somewhere. I plan on moving with him and finishing up school wherever hes at. The way I see it is if you wanna stay where youre at, are you gonna be able to withstand the long distance relationship or will you miss him too much to live so far away? After 10 months away from him, theres no way im not going! haha
