I Am Proud

I can honestly say I am a proud military girlfriend. I never knew I would actually be one but even though it's rough and it sucks a lot of the time. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love that I can look foward to his letters, packages and phone calls and I love hearing his voice saying i miss you and can't wait to come home to see you. I mean who doesn't hate how we have to be apart for long periods of time but I really believe that that time brings us closer to our men and makes us stronger as a couple and as a person. I am a strong military girlfriend and am proud of it :)

see just stay positive and you will make it through this! :) he joined three months before i met him so about 9 or 10 months now. I cant believe its been that long and that i have made it this far. Time flys by. I am positive you and your soldier will make it through!

Okay thank you so much. Your insight definately makes me feel a lot better about the limited contact thing. There are probably going to be difficult times ahead, but Im confident that my guy and I can make it. How long has your guy been in the army?

It will be fine. Don't worry. Stay confident and strong. I thought it was gonna be the worst thing in the world when i found out he was going into the army and i thought i would never get through it but believe me it gets easier. If he is going off to basic get ready to write a lot of letters because that is the most contact you will probably get besides a phone call on sundays for maybe half an hour if your lucky. After basic is over it gets easier because the next training you can have much more contact. Phones, skype, packages and more letters. My boyfriend is in Germany now for his training before deployment and i can talk to him from time to time on the phone and we get to skype every once in a while. It's really not as bad as you think. Just keep your head high and get all the negative thoughts out of your head! Your man is going to be a well-trained united states army soldier and he will be fine! If you ever have a question or just need someone to talk to im here for you:)

Thats really sweet. You give me hope. My boyfriend is joining the army in a couple of months and I am so nervous. We've been together for a long time and I want to continue to be with him but have no idea how much time or when they are able to call or contact their loved ones. How often can you see or talk to your guy?
