My Army Ranger

So my mans name is Mike and he is the most amazing man I have ever met. We actually met online. we both had friends that thought we should try an online dating site. We did and I actually messaged him first b/c his profile picture was adorable.
We talked for 2 weeks until 2 am almost every night... Then we met. I got out of the car and honestly BLUSHED right there. I couldn't believe I did that. I have never done that before.
Anyways this was the first time I have dated ANYONE in the military. He's in the Army :) so another first was that.... he has two children from his first wife. I wasn't a fan of the whole ex wife thing but honestly he is everything and more i have ever wanted in a man.
He went to ranger training on 8/2012 just two months after we made it offical and he was gone for 11weeks and 4 days...I could write him letters but of course I had to wait on him to send me one with the address first. I wrote him daily and multiple times a day. I got my first letter 9 days into his training. I sent my pack of 10 letters and 12 pictures to him the NEXT day. They ended up holding their mail from him b/c of their training and it took almost a month for him to get my letters. However we survived it!
It has been a new experience for sure but one that I wouldn't trade for the world. i found the man I want to grow old with and spend every moment with.

After he graduated from ranger training he went straight from south carolina to fort lee virginia and I saw him at christmas. That moment of seeing him for the first time I can honestly tell you that EVERYONE else disappeared. I ran to him in the airport and just cried and held him close to me.
what I am trying to say is that being away from him sucks but having him to call all MINE is worth every moment of it. We truly love each other and nothing is going to change that.NOTHING

I find myself very very blessed to have found him. He is getting ready to move to his new duty station from fort lee to fort benning GA which is almost 3 hrs from my but hell he is in GA! that was a huge prayer answered!

However, we are going to be going through our first deployment in March. I will get 8 weeks before he is shipped out. But b/c he made Ranger, he is considered special ops and I won't be able to have any contact with him.

I will continue to pray that God protects him and his fellow soldiers :-) as he always reminds me...stay strong.

This is the cutest thing I've ever read. Definitely inspirational. You go girl !

It is so wonderful to come across your story!! My husband was also an army ranger, deployed 7 times, and is the most wonderful man I've ever met. We also met online!!

Although I didn't know my husband while he was serving in the Army, I met him just 3 months after he came home. From my experience, if you aren't already, learn to be very patient. Rangers go through a lot, see and experience a lot, but most of all they need support, love and patience from their family to get through some the 'after-life' of being a ranger. (if you ever want to ask questions, I'll answer what I can and be happy to help) It took my husband about 3 years after being home to adjust to real life and find a job. They have their good days and their bad days, but just love him with all your heart and the bad days will be easier to deal with:)

But feel so blessed because our Rangers are very few and far between!!! I have had the chance to meet several of my husband's friends who are just as wonderful.

Again, it was wonderful reading your story!!

Your story is so inspirational. I also met my soldier online. I also messaged him first. Lol. He is everything I have ever dreamed of. I am so in love with him it is unbelievable. And it does take an extremely strong woman to live this lifestyle. I'm still not very good at it. When I can't communicate with him I feel like I'm loosing my mind. But I really admire you for being so strong. It really does take a woman who is Army Strong to be with a soldier. And in many ways we give them hope. My solider tells me every chance he gets that if he didn't think I would be there for him to come home to then he wouldn't have a reason to come home.

Hi Krenae08,

Your story made me smile. You should write another story about how you two met, like telling every second of it? I'm a love story addict :)

How long is his deployment going to be? wow, no contact at all?

:) that's awesome!! im glad it made you smile. I love telling our story. I just might do that!!
his deployment will be at least 9 months but could be longer than 12. When he first went into the army he was a scout but since he made ranger his job is special ops and I won't be able to have any contact with him b/c of the types of missions he wil be going on. This will be his second tour. His first one (before I met him) was 16 months long! I couldn't imagine that long!

So how did you meet your boyfriend? How long have you guys been together?

I am a volunteer at an organization that supports the military and we have been together for 7 months now :)
