New Military Wife

I'm pretty new to being a military wife. My DH and I have been married for 16 yrs, but he just recently rejoined the military (the national guard). He had been in the army before we were married but was honorably discharged in 1991. Last August he joined the NG. Now he is being deployed to Kuwait (January 4). We've never really been apart except for a week here and there since we got married. I'm not handlling it well at all. I cry alot and get angry alot, and I do all of this while trying to be supportive and putting on a brave face. I'm 34 yrs old but I feel like such a baby. He's not even gone yet and I already miss him.

Feeling like that is so normal, when my soldier deployed to Iraq for a 12 month tour, after being home only a year from Korea, I spent alot of time angry, crying, been then it got better, I look forward to the midtour leave. We choose these military men, and no we might not have the normal relationships, but it makes it all worth while when they come back. Be proud of him, and love and hold him ALOT before he leaves. Stay strong, you will get thru this......Im here as well if you need to chat....
