I'm not always a misanthrope. Maybe it's just me but I get tired of arguing with people over the most blatantly obvious points.

Other humans seem to have no idea that they are smiling and being "optimistic" about things which are causing many others misery.

For example, how many of us are currently struggling with Windows 8. I've used windows for close to 20 years now and it just seems to have gotten enormously more confusing to me. I'm lost in Windows 8 and there doesn't seem to be a reasonable explanation for why Microsoft has shafted the Windows 7 GUI in favor of giving people like me more grief.

I expressed my discontentment on another forum and the majority of responses were to the effect that my discontentment was unjustified.

I give up. Windows 8 has forced me to relearn something I thought I knew very well. I once knew the Windows OS like the back of my hand. Now Microsoft and Co. have effectively made me into an obsolete dinosaur unless I invest an enormous amount of time and resources to learn new tricks.

No one really cares that there are those of us who can't keep up with all the changes around us. No! Change is "wonderful"! We're all supposed to embrace change. I can't even make a basic point that change is not always wonderful because there are too many stupid people out there who want to be "optimists" because being "optimistic" sells and being realistic doesn't.

No one really wants to listen to those of us who are falling behind in the race. Well, if you don't care about me, then I don't care about you anymore either. All the "optimists" out there who don't understand the concept of empathy can go to hell for all I care. But I doubt they will. I'm sure when the inevitable end comes for all of us I will be the one going to Hell and everyone else will be in Heaven. Even God is probably against me!
