Epidural

I am terrified of needles, so whenever anyone would ever mention "epidural" I'd cringe and my stomach would flip-flop. When I got pregnant with my daughter, I swore I wasn't going to have one. Oh, the idea still gives me chills.  Every one told me I couldn't do it without the epidural and I told them all they were wrong. I was absolutely devasted when I had complications and an epidural was necessary... though I remember being a tiny bit relieved that the pain was going to stop! Now it's been enough time that I swear with my next one I'm going for natural! I just hope I don't disappoint myself again.

Having a healthy baby should never be disappointing no matter how they enter the word. I chose to have my epidural your tough enough if you only got it because you had to.

Good for you! I tried to give birth to my son naturally. My labor progressed very quickly, I was dilated to nine centimeters after only a couple hours, no epidural or anything, and then the progress stopped. They gave me Pitocin to make my contractions stronger, but my baby was face up and he was stuck in the birth canal. After 16 hours I ended up delivering via c-section. My baby was 10 lbs 11 oz, and in the wrong position, no wonder he didn't come out, I'm 5'2". I don't know if I will ever be able to have a natural childbirth, but I wish I could so if you think you can do it, go for it!
