I Am A Mother Finally!!

When you are 16 years old and you are told that you will never be able to have children, how do you handle this news? I was 16 and told I would not be able to have children unless I under went a lot of fertility therapy. Well at 16 I did not really care about this however, when I started getting older and had a few serious relationships I started wanting children. At the time I could not afford to go through the fertility therapy. I was devastated that I could not have a child of my own to love and to take care of. At age 25 I was really sick most of the year and the doctor could not figure out why. I was showing signs of being pregnant however all my pregnancy tests came back negative. Finally in July I started showing more signs of being pregnant, went to the doctor and took another test. This time it was POSITIVE!!! I was so happy and so shocked. I went home and told my soon to be husband (at the time) that I was pregnant. After I got all the tests done to make sure I was pregnant I had to get an ultra sound to find out for sure how far a long I was. To my shock and to the shock of my mother, she was with me, I was 28 weeks pregnant. I only had a little bit of time to get everything ready for my baby boy to be born. Luckily I have a great family and a lot of support. On October 6, 2006, I was admitted and my labor induced. I gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy. My life never seemed so happy until that moment. My son means the world to me and I am so happy I had the chance to have at least one child. I like to share my story because, I was told I could not have kids and I have one. Therefore do not always believe what is told to you. Get a second opinion or do what you want to do even if someone tells you that you can not do it. :P
