My fiance just left for the National Guard. I'm very happy for him. While he's gone, I get to be the mother to his 5 and 2 year old sons. Everynight I get to tell them Daddy loves them and will be home soon enough, and not to worry.

But what they don't know is I cry everynight while I'm in bed.

It's a hard process to go through. I miss him every second of the day. We've sent a few letters back and forth. I've gotten one phone call. He always tells me in the letters how much he loves me and the boys, and how he can't wait to start to our family when he gets back. He sprays his letters with his cologne, and I sniff every inch of it. :) I love him with all my heart. I'm kinda in the same situation you're in. I'm here for support, girl :)

he will go to basic then AIT and then he will have 2weeks of annual training ( which sucks) and whatever schools or extra training he will have to go and do it.

A good majority of the time he will be home more then away, he may deploy dependin on his MOS

    hang in there!!!

Message me if you want to talk.

I can totally relate! I was horrified when I found out that my bf had decided to enlist...I mean, I knew that day would come but I never expected it to actually happen! In any case, he enlisted early Dec. and was shipped to Basic and AIT this Jan. For him, both basic and AIT are at the same base, which is in Missouri. Basic was a toughie, especially the initial seperation from each other. It gets a little better with time and it's strange how I've adjusted to such a change...my bf and I are great pals and spent every minute with eachother so his absence is truly missed...When he graduted from Basic and entered AIT, we found out that he wasn't going to get his phone on a daily basis...In fact, he only gets it once a week, generally on Sundays. Somtimes he gets it for ten minutes or so throughout the week, but it's rare. It's strange because I have girlfriends who have their loved ones in AIT and they all have unlimited phone priveledges...You can imagine how envious I am. Still, we make it work. I understand how scared you must be, it's a big change and it's certainly a scary path. But if it's right, then you'll find ways to make it work.

Anyway, I hope the best for you and your man.

Thanks for the info, it kinda helps to know the time frame. I dont think I want him to do it now but I think he's kinda set on it.
