Long Distance Sweethearts

So, My new fiancee(As of December 29,2012) and I have been together 3 years and 3 months. Throughout the entire relationship, We have been long-distance. Crazy, right? Yeah, I thought so too. We consider each other highschool sweethearts, and bestfriends. When he told me he was going into the navy, He had already enlisted and picked his MEPS date, I was so devastated. I was losing the love of my life so soon. Two weeks later, He went to MEPS for the first time. My heart felt lost and broken. After he got back, He called me and explained everything to me until I understood what he was doing, and how it affect our future. After that, I was a little more understanding of the whole thing. But who wants to let the love of their life go, right when they were supposed to finally meet and start their life together? Surely not me. He went to his recruiter weekly, and time flew. I decided I was going to see him before he left. Granted, I had a month to get over three hundred dollars. After that long month, I was finally standing in the Greyhound station of Toledo, OH waiting to finally meet my boyfriend of 3 years and 2 months. It was a thirty-seven hour bus ride there, I got off the bus and automatically knew who he was. I ran up to him and hugged him like no tomorrow. I was finally where I needed to be, in his arms. Later that night, I had met family and friends, and I just wanted time with him. Well, I definitely got it. That night, 4 hours after my arrival. He asked me to marry him. He said he couldn't wait another hour to put a ring on my finger. I said Yes!, Obviously. After 6 short days, I was at the Navy recruiting station in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. It was a cold, rainy day. I told him goodbye for the first time. I cried like a little baby. (Of course) Now, I'm closer to him than I was 99% of our relationship, And I can't call him, see him, or anything. It's been 10 days since he arrived at RTC. I'm losing my mind. I want that phone call so bad!

Any advice on how to get through these months?

Thanks! I'm still waiting for the letter with his address. I've written a letter everyday since he left, So he's gonna have a little bit to read. I've kept pretty busy with classes and a new semester, it's just when I'm alone and at night because he used to call every night and stay until I was asleep. Thanks for the help! :) Good luck to you too!

Hey! Im going to have to say goodbye to my man tomorrow as well :( What helps me forget about the distance that is yet to come is to keep myself busy. Everyday next week, I have something planned, with my closest friends so I can get my mind off of not seeing him for a while. Also, write to him :) He'll probably be scared, and missing you alot. If you write to him, it'll make you feel better, and surely him. Hope I helped!
