My girlfriend recently left for boot camp. I went into this trying to prepare myself for her leave, but truth is, nothing can prepare you for what is to come. When the day came, it hit me like a ton of bricks. But the bright side is, things do get easier. The days get shorter & the nights alone get easier. I went through a stage when I had so much rage. And I felt like she just left me, but truth is, they are doing this to better themselves & build a life to support their significant other. Its hard, but it gets easier. I promise. Always remember, they are not only doing this for themselves. & about the whole cheating situation, the more you worry it puts strain on the relationship. You want the last weeks before he leaves to be filled with happiness. You don't want regrets while he's gone. Keep your head up. Military girlfriends are the strongest women out there :) Good luck!

Unless he has a history of infidelity, I would not worry about him cheating. That is a myth that continues to be perpetuated with the Navy. You both have been together for quite a while so have confidence in your relationship. It's a hard lifestyle, but you can do it if you find that he's worth the wait and distance. I was with my boyfriend for 2 years also when he joined and I was very depressed and anxious also. We ended up getting married so we worked out through over a year of distance between us. I still struggle with our situation sometimes, but it's normal... People learn to cope and adapt over time. You will be okay. It is hard but it's worth it.

Thank you so much, I'm very grateful. This advice has helped me so much, I just had so many "What ifs" going through my head it was destroying our relationship. He's never cheated he's so sweet and kind.. I'll try my best to pull through thank you so so much.
