Ok so I'm new to being a Navy girlfriend. It is sooo cool to see that I'm not the only one going through the woes of missing my sailor. I never ever thought I'd be seriously dating a man in the military solely because I am in the military myself (army reserves) and I know the struggles of missing someone when they are deployed and my dad is retired from the navy and it was sooo hard growing up with him being away all the time. But as fate would I have I reconnected with an old college friend (my sailor) and it was love at first sight lol. I currently live in Charlotte, NC and he is stationed in Hawaii smh (what did I get myself in to?????) And if that wasn't crazy enough he recently told me that he will be underway for 8 months starting at the end of January. I'm trying no to freak out because we have so little time together before he leaves. I'll only get to see him once or twice before he goes underway. So I guess I need to figure out how I'm going to cope with him being gone......any suggestions???

Steal some t-shirts, take lots of pictures before he goes, keep the voicemails, make sure you download all the skypes, free texting apps (if he is international), time zone conversions...and stay connected here...you'll manage, we all do :)

Just talk to him as much as you can, Skype all the time and record your phone calls with him!! So when he's not around and you miss him, you can still hear his voice - that's what i did and it helped a lot :)

Thanks, I'll definitely give that a try.
