*pulverises Mess With Neat Gun*

As far as I know, there is no one else that doesn't have OCD and cleans as I do. =D I am good at cleaning, and when I say good, I mean completely AWESOME. No one I know/of cleans and tidies as well as I do. Give me a messy bombed out room and I'll have it clean and tidy like THAT *snaps fingers*. :p It's the only thing that I am absolutely sure that I am great at.

Sometimes I end up spending more time cleaning and organising more than I do work/stuff that needs to be done other than cleaning. I stay up even later than I actually finish up b/c I have to put everything back where it belongs, and straighten up the edges of all the pages and books and notes, and then make sure my desk is completely devoid of everything except the printer, lamp, router and my packed bag. The practical thing to do would be to get up early to do it instead, but I can never bear leaving a mess behind. Must pack it all up....!

I think I know why I am such a neat freak. Maybe it's the idea of cleaning up a total mess, and making it neat and perfect again; making everything all right. Knowing what to do when confronted with a mountain of crap to sift through. Always having control over at least this aspect of my life. Giving myself a little physical space to think and rest and sit. Yes, that's probably it. The good thing about cleaning being my forte is that if I'm not too lethargic and feeling a little useless and down, I can go have a clean of the house. Good mood booster. =P When ppl need to avoid/deal/distract/relax, some cook [like izzy from grey's anatomy!], some exercise, and some clean. We all have our ways to cope.

My family is so used to me being the neat freak of the house - they know the warning signs of when I'm about to go into a cleaning frenzy. When I get angry, it's a good way for me to focus my energy into attacking a load of laundry, a topsy-turvy room or some unfortunate dishes waiting to be stacked. The latter is always a bit of a dangerous option. I might slam a plate down too hard sometimes...I discovered a broken dish where a "corner" had cracked and fallen out...I don't think it was me, honestly...!

Whenever I come over to anyone's house, I always have such a strong urge to clean up and tidy for them. I do get a few weird looks my way... ^ ^ It even happens in the shops, when there's clothes hanging by one shoulder off a hanger, or a bunch of clothes thrown onto a table instead of folded nicely. I would be a very good shop assistant I think! Ha, now there's a career option...if all else fails, and I never end up where I want to be, I could always become a house cleaner or a shop assistant! :p

Very cool idea...am going to check it out now...thanks for the link!

I belong to freecycle.org - a neat way to get rid of things. You advertise online free and people come and pick it up. It's in yahoo groups. Yes, a pit or a conveyor belt in the neighborhood that could spread the goodies around! LOL

Argh!! Too late, here I am on the 'net, and it's 4:42pm. Now there's a idea - but where could the mess go? Maybe a pit underneath the house? Hrm....

Yes, the internet can claim another addict - me. I need a zap with the neat gun also. My ex used to say we need to develop a house that has a hinge on one side with hydraulic jacks on it - you can jack up the side and just blow everything out of there. I'm getting better at throwing things away - I think that is the crux of the matter. Another rule would be - don't access the net before dark. I don't think I can handle that one.

Accio mess-in-puck's-apt.! *lands in front of musichead* Ah-ha! *zaps with neat gun* haha, a bit of potterness creeping in there....

I usually start wth the closet, floor, bed, and then the room...and work my way around. Or even just a desk in 15mins. I truly rely on cleaning up the little things every time I see it so it doesn't build up! Nightmare...

I wish I had a bit of that in me, its not that am lazy, far from it, I have all the intentions in the world to de clutter my house but i dont know where to start.
