Nerds Unite

As a child I tried being cooler at times than I really was. It was hard for me to get along with others since they thought I was too smart and wasn't able to have pointless conversations like them. I embrace it now and if you are a true nerd you cannot hide it no matter how hard you try. I am in college now and it is definitely easier to be this way since anyone who still thinks it is NOT cool to be smart normally does not do very well in college. Going to class, studying and writing papers allows me to channel my inner nerd and it really gives me an adrenaline rush. If I could get paid to go to school for the rest of my life I would. I am a history nerd (and major...the history part, not the nerd part) and my biggest heroes are Mister Rogers and Velma from Scooby Doo. I love the nerdy, artistic types in this world. I am proud and not embarrassed to be myself. This being said people now see me as cool because I am able to be myself and radiant confidence. Its good being a nerd, we rule the world.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention one more thing. Nerds do not only consist of the ones you see on and math nerds. We come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and interests. I wish they would show more of a variety. Also not all of us are socially inept. In order for us to rule the world (which we do) we need to be able to speak in meetings and when doing research and concocting experiments. It would be impossible to do half of what we do without speaking to others.
