It Isn't Easy Being Green

Its a part of who I am. I started rooting for the Jets when I was nine years old because I wanted to be different from all the Giant fans around here. Over the years I've lived with being second fiddle, with having to start a phone call campaign to keep them on TV on Sunday afternoons. I've lived with gut wrenching losses and lost seasons. Inside of all of that what was most important was hope. Like the Brooklyn Dodgers of the 1940s and '50s. Wait til next year. Its about hope and belief. Yeah, I know sports is a business and I know that players are over paid. But there is still a nine year old kid inside me that believes in those men in green. That they will win for me and, for once, I'll be on top of the NFL mountain.

Sorry about tonight, close though. :(

Tough loss. To come so close. I hope we've shown other teams how they can defeat the Patriots.

They coulda won with that field goal, 8 sec left, but it was blocked :)

Yep

I could not have said it any better. It's tough to be a jets fan, but I love it and would have it no other way. It's somehow part of who I am, as the jets, like myself, are seemingly eternal underdogs. I think this year, however, will mark the beginning of the end for Brady and bellicheck, and the beginning of greater things for us ;)

Yes! You totally get it. I'm the same way. I'm worried about the fact that we don't have NFL quality cornerbacks right now though.

Yea Im with ya there, but Rex in his evolution as a head coach has realized that to have an offense good enough to put more points on the board than our opponents means we just simply can't be all about defense. We need guys like dee milliner to step up and play to their full potential. I like our team. You ask our guys about their lives off the field, they'll tell ya they hang out with their teammates and their families. Indeed our players are like one big family. That's how it should be. That's how many great championship teams are and have been. You don't give up on family, you fight for em no matter what. I like where we're going. We got a lot young guys especially on offense that we're bringing up that will one day bloom to full potential(hopefully as jets), as well as a good corp of veterans who know this game and the league. It's a recipe for success. You ask me it's only a matter of time

I hope you are right. We'll see how the offense develops. I'm happy with our running backs. We still like a deep threat at wide receiver. I like our O and D lines and out linebackers are decent. Its just the secondary that may cost us. Especially against someone like Tom Brady.

I hear ya, we need some people to step up. We need Eric decker to have another great year. It's easy with Peyton manning to get 80+ receptions. We need that same performance again. We got good tight ends too, and I gotta say from what I've seen so far of Geno, I'm just so proud and in awe of how far he's come this offseason. Obviously we ain't seen nothing yet, preseason don't count for ****, but Dave we're on the up and up man. What I've been telling people is that this year will be more like a beginning of things for us. What I'm more excited about is the next 2 seasons, cuz Brady can't go on forever, and I say bellicheck can't do it without his golden boy. Never forget we fired him as our head coach cuz he sucked. It's coming man, it's just a matter of time. I'm bold enough to say we will win our division at least once in the next 3 years. I'd put any amount of money on it. And when it happens, alllllllll these long hard years we've had will make it that much sweeter

I love what Geno is doing. I think your prediction is very possible. Brady can't go on forever and Belichick hasn't been a winner without him.

Just a matter of time brother. On that note, we gotta do better than .500 this year. We just gotta keep Rex. He's us man, he knows us, I think only he can get us there in the near future. I know that maybe not even all jets fans might agree with that, but it's what I feel

We have a tough schedule. I love Rex though and I hope he stays.

Well you stick by your team even though they aren't doing great. That's dedication. :)

Thanks! And its not going to get any easier this season.

You'll never know. This could be the Jets turn around year.

Its going to be tough without an experienced QB. I was counting on Garrard, but he can't go.

I feel your pain, I'm a life long Detroit Lions fan. Doesn't get much worse than that. Lol. At least I have my Tigers, can't wait!

I've always liked the Lions too. I think it was because I got to see them every Thanksgiving.

Ah, the Cubbies! Now there is a team after my own heart!

Lovely sentiments. The world is full of fair weather friends. Your devotion to the green men is admirable.<br />
