Former News Reporter

My father encouraged, or rather, instructed me to read the front page of the news paper every day.  Many years later, I still do it, even though I read Associated Press, CNN and others on my iPhone several times through the day.  The news "education" paid off; I became a TV reporter and anchor in a mid-sized market during my senior year of college.  While I am no longer on-air in news, I still work in broadcast media, and I am proud of the type of news I represent.  I can't say that about a lot of the news organizations today.  It's definitely a different business than it was when I was reporting.  What is fair and balanced?
