I Only Get Peace And Quiet At Night

Late at night, after everyone has gone to bed, is the best part of my day (and technically, morning). I'm finally left alone, without people interrupting me, calling me, emailing me, or otherwise bothering me. Nobody is looking over my shoulder or demanding that I do something. I'm free to do whatever I want. Normally I put on my headphones and listen to some music while I play a game, read, surf the net, or IM/Skype a few people.

Some nights its hard to go to bed, even when I'm tired. Going to bed is the same as surrendering this serenity in exchange for the pressures of the next day, which can be overwhelming to think about.

Yes, it's peaceful at night since everyone else is in bed. I wonder when you sleep, since you're bothered by people during the day and you're up at night. You say, "Some nights it's hard to go to bed...". Do you: sleep on other nights, sleep part of the night, maybe nap when you can during the day if you slept little or none the night before?

When at all possible I grab a nap during the day so I can stay up later. Of course, with school and work that wasn't usually possible. But, that's what weekends are for!
