I Won't Be What Everyone Else Is

I go against the grain; I march to the beat of my own drum.

I'm not interested in the things that many people flock to; the fads and trends that most jump on the bandwagon to.

Christabel--no offense taken. it is funny.<br />

fadingsparkles--It's actually a combination of genuine disinterest and aversion due to rabid fanaticism. I find it difficult to be interested in something if everyone is going crazy over it because it just happens to be the "IT" or "NOW" thing to be into. It's a real turn-off for me, and I will say that I dislike certain things solely because I know it's a popular thing. My boyfriend teases me endlessly about it, especially since I sometimes change my mind after the popularity has tapered off. <br />
Take it as you will. I believe that I'm thinking for myself by not allowing my opinion to be influenced by the fact that something is cool by majority rule. Once the clamor has died down, I can look at said trend from a more ob<x>jective view.

I find it ironic that this is a GROUP for nonconformists... ;) don't take offense at it, it's just funny.
