Feeling Alone In A Crowd Of People

I've been a pastor's wife for several years. I met my husband in college while he was a Theology major and we were married within one year. I didn't feel like I really knew what to expect as a pastor's wife so I went into it with zeal and a little nervousness. While there have been many wonderful experiences I am currently going through one of the loneliest periods of our marriage. We were recently moved to a new church and it is taking up so much of my husband's time that I feel he is more concerned (and consumed) with the members than he is with our marriage. I live far away from my parents and extended family and in a very culturally different city. I know my story sounds no different than a lot of other pastor's wives but I just needed to put my story in the pot as well and reach out for encouragement.

    My dad was an elder and I heard him encourage the pastor time after time to remember that his family came after GOD, but BEFORE his ministry. I'm sure your husband wants to make a good impression and wants to do all things well for GOD'S glory and the edification of the saints, but if you feel he has no time for you then this needs to change! I suggest that you speak with your husband. If need be, call him at the church office and ask him to schedule you in for a talk. Let him know, without nagging, that this is something you need to seriously discuss, and sit down and talk to your love. Let him know how you feel and work together to help him manage his schedule better. Encourage him to do as Moses did and appoint other members of the church to look after some menial things that consume his time, but can easily be done by others.     I know you will be fine as soon you settled and make new friends.....I guess its part of being in the ministry to move where you are called......cheer up!
