    Hi
Yes, you hit the nail on the head
With saying second-class Grandma. I feel the same. Nothing I do seems to be good enough. You are not alone, my friend, these girls need to know what they (actually their children) are missing out on. And I think our sons need to pull their heads out of the sand too. Hang in there.:)

I posted this 4 years ago. Since then I relocated to 3 miles away from my son and his family (and his wife's family is in the local area also). I am closer physically, but still get the same vibes. I guess it is just a fact of life that I will deal with. In the meantime, I try to concentrate on being there when needed and keeping my mind from dwelling on my perceptions. Huggs to you Elniaho21

how far away does your husband's family live? What kind of contact is attempted when they aren't physically there? What can they do to get closer to you and the kids?

Oh - I feel for you. This sounds like our situation. My hubby's parents never come to visit, or if they do, every couple of months drop in for 5 minutes here and there.

My family is all here, and large. We spend a lot of time with them because hubby's parents do not come to visit.

    Sorry about this.
