am lucky enough to live near half a dozen bus routes and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants, so I haven't bothered with a car for years.
What really annoys me is drivers not knowing the roadlaws regarding the right of way that pedestrians have (at least here where I live). If a car is turning -whether left or right is irrelevant- the car MUST give way to the pedestrians crossing the road. Similarly, if a car is crossing a Sidewalk, the car MUST give way.
I have had several drivers almost run me down and then yell at me as though it were my fault, because I insisted on my right of way.
One guy yelled: I didn't f***ing see you there!
I replied: Sorry! Silly me for not wearing a red flashing light on top of my head when walking on the sidewalk!
