I Am A Poet
Tears on a tin roof
The fiddler sat
Upon my roof
He had no feet
He only had hoofs
He played his song
Of make believe
He wore a lie
Upon his sleeve
His evil tune
Had me dizzy and spun
Believing he was
The ritious one
Cast a spell upon my
Fragile mind
To leave all of my
Judgement far behind
Had me doing
What ever he wanted
Leaving me abondonded
Weakend and taunted
When he was finished
Playing his song
Like an answered prayer
He was finally gone
Behind he left
A mess so massive
Why did I have to
Be so passive
My soul has died
But im living on
My heart is singing
Its saddest song
My mind is boggled
By reality
My eyes are afraid of
What they can not see
I am almost done
Finished... expired
I just need to rest
I am so very tired
Thy gentle soul
So scared it's hiding
Surrendering to all of this madness and fighting
Waving above its
White blood stained flag
So tattered and torn
It's the size of a rag
I surrender... I give...
Are you happy? You win...
I'll be the goodness
And you be the sin
I refuse to add to
The fiddlers mess
I refuse to care
To pass his test
So down my
Weary head I lay
I'll be stronger than ever
He'll see... One day
Take back my power
And rebuild whats lost
Learn from the past
And be my own boss
Regain all of my qualities
That have been misplaced
Like a genuine smile
Upon my lonesome face....
So now I will sleep
My soul to ease
And rest my
Aching heart to peace
Quiet down
My tortured mind
Leaving all the hurt behind
Alieviate all of my
heavy sorrow
Brighten up my
Darkened tomorrows
Hush up my
Nagging worries
Make a better ending
To my lifes story
I am going to weep untill I can't weep no more
Then pick myself up
Off of this man made floor
I now set a thousand and one tears free
So they will stop imprisoning me
A river of tears
Down the old tin roof
Rinsing away
The tainted proof
Of the fiddler who once tourmented me
Who stole my pride
And dignity
I cry a thousand tears
For thee
And one for your misery
Let them wash away
The memories
Let them rinse away the past
May they clean the stains upon my soul
Offering purity that will last
Let them wash away
The last of him
And his perverse song.
May my tears keep pouring down
Untill the remnants
Are all gone....
