I got into IV use of heroin with the influence of an ex boyfriend and continued use even after we broke up. I went to jail for theft in April of 2013 for 20 days and have been clean ever since. Almost three years now. I recently got married to an amazing man and am expecting our first child in May. However, I have been having A LOT of dope dreams, cravings, and flashbacks in the past month or so. I'm barely sleeping and I feel like heroin is on my mind more now than it ever was in my first year of sobriety. Am I the only one? I don't know how to deal with it, but going back to that kind of life isn't even an option for me. I'm happy with my life for the first time in a long time. So why is this haunting me again now??

First congratulations for the miracle of being clean and serene for 3 years ... May it remain for rest of your life. Having relapse dream can happen to any recovered addict even with years if recovery. But we need to take actions towards it and not just keep silence and fight the disease with our own will .. Remember we are powerless toward addiction. Personally when I dream about it I thank god for the feeling and for not getting relapsed in real as dreams means that my recovery is at risk and need serious attention.

Pray alot seeking help from your hp 'for me god' to have these thoughts, carvings and dreams lifted. Talk to your sponsor 'if you worked the steps NA' or to a recovered addict and go to meetings .. If you have problem doing this openly you can seek help on line try 'in the rooms'

My suggestion to talk to your man about your addiction problem no need to go into details but you need to be honest about it as addiction disease is an everlasting and probably you will need your partner support sometimes .. Just be honest as recovery comes on top of all life priorities. Hope to have assisted with above feedback and please let me know if I can ever be of assistance. Wishing you a happy life xxx love & respect ...
