I'm on an 8-week plan to train myself to be able to run 30 min nonstop.  The first week (for 5 days) I ran 1 min/walked 2 min and repeated this 10 times. On the first day of week 2 I'm supposed to run 2 min/walk 1 min x 10.  So I attempted to do this today, but I only made it up to a total of 23 minutes :( I'm having a real hard time with catching my breath while running. I don't feel pain in my muscles, but I have shortness of breath. I don't know how to push past this.  I'm already breathing through both my nose and mouth in order to consume the most oxygen possible. Any advice??
