In A Lot Of Ways.

There are a lot of ways someone can be sensitive.

Being sensitive to others, having compassion, is one of the greatest gifts you can give to the world. And you can give it in so many ways...

Being sensitive to yourself, hearing your inner voice, is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. I am trying to learn to meditate, so that I can hear myself better. :)

Also, there is sensitive skinned, which I am, and have learned never to buy a new product in a large quantity before I have tested it out first. There are a lot of things out there that will make me break out in hives or a rash. It's one of the reasons I love Lush, because the products are all natural and I have never had a reaction to any of them.

And then there is someone who is a "sensitive" . One who can see or feel things other's can't. Which I hear can be both a blessing and a curse, but have no personal experiences with. Sometimes, I just know things, but sometimes the things I know are wrong. lol

I am sorry lostsoul. It hurts my heart to hear you say you hate yourself. I know it's hard (trust me I know), but try loving yourself just the way you are.

I am a very sensitive man , what I hate is I can get hurt feelings very quickly. that sucks I think most people don't even know that they have hurt my feeling. I hate that about me . It sucks, other than that I like having a soft heart .I seem to relate to women much easier then men.

It is truly a blessing to have compassionate people to share life with, Dan32. Hugs.

I love to listen and know people with compassionate hearts. My compassionate side is strong but until recently I never found a person in life where I could freely express and share my compassionate side and be so comfortable doing so. The a"sensitive" as you describe and the compassionate are very special people. One has touched my heart.

Exactly. And if they can suck you into their assness, even better for them. Then they are not the only one acting that way.

That's the nail on the head.

They want to be able to justify acting however they want to whoever they want without consequence.

I have always thought that insensitive people want sensitive types to be more thick skinned so that we can take their abuse. Like they expect you to be ok with the fact they're acting like a jerk. You can't make other people act a certain way, but you definatly have control over who you accept into your life and who you don't. I choose people like you and Snowy because you are good people to the core, and as for the insenitive people that push their way into your life sometimes, I like to be nice to them because it makes it even more obvious that they are being an ***. :)

Awww......Thanks Bluebie. You're pretty damn perfect yourself :)

Its funny when you actually think about it. What are the people that are telling us to be less sensitive actually asking? For us to care LESS? That's messed up.

I agree Bassy. It is the insensitive people who have the problem. I think Snowy is perfect, just as she is, and you too, my Rockin friend :)

You are not too sensitive Snowy. The ****** world around us would have us believe that we have some sort of problem. It is the insensitive people that have the problem.
Like Billy Joel sang "I like you just the way you are"

Thank you, facingmyfears :)

I understand what you are saying, Snowy. It helps me to think of giving as unconditional, not expecting anything in return. That way, if someone doesn't reciprocate the way they should, or the way we would like them to, it sits better in my heart.

I have figured out I'm not very adapt at mediation. I use it to get to sleep primarily. I haven't tried giggling, but think it would be counter productive to sleeping. lol

I am WAYY to sensitive at times which isnt always a good thing. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I give of my time and my friendship endlessly, but there have been times when I have been very hurt in the process.

Bluebie- if I meditate & giggle will this help, cuz you know I am a giggler by nature anyway! LOL

Great post!

Will do :)

Bassy! I was just thinking tonight about how I miss your Rockin self! Call me soon, ok, we are due for a chat! Love you too Sweetie. :)

Well....I didn't need this story to know you are sensitive because I've been on the receiving end many times.
Love ya girl :)

I try to be good to everyone too Sweetnshort. A nice person in general. It's good you work with people who have had some trouble and that you treat them with compassion. Hugs.

I am a very sensitive person also, mabe to sensitive. I enjoy helping others & try to be good to everyone. I work a group of convicts during the day & I am very good to them. The way I look at it everyone makes mistakes

I think it's the giggling, girl. lol

Sorry for that Bluebie... but seeeeee... this is what I mean... how the heck can one focus???

Must be our d***y minds........ I meant deary minds...

I've read a couple of books on the subject, and there are some helpful hints in them, like focus on your breath, in and out... in and out... in and out... OMG! Now you have ME giggling! lol

That was intention, too... to learn to relax because I am just so hyper........... but I end up giggling... then I can't go to sleep because I've been giggling... *Sylph whacks forehead*...

I have a hard time focusing too. Damn brain just won't shut up! lol

They say it get's easier with practice, so I practice. What I have learned so far is it is a great way to get to sleep. :)

I sense you, Blubie... ummmmm...

I'm trying to learn meditation, too... a struggle, I tell you. I can not for the life of me focus... how do you do it?

I always end up giggling...

Sometimes, neonshades, I feel like that IS what I'm coping with. lol

Seriously, no need to be one of them though. If we let them get under our skin, they win. I like to win, at least with myself.

Sensitivity is a very admirable quality in both men and women. A world of thick skinned insensitive people would be hard to cope with.

I don't think that you need to be a doormat to be a sensitive person. There have been people that have mistaken the two, but they are quicky set straight :)

The more you are grateful for, the more you get to be grateful for.
