Singing Saved My Life

I've been singing as long as I can remember. My mother used to tell me that I used to sit singing in the shopping cart when I was only one year old, and that I was singing children's songs with a clear, sweet voice, and never lost pitch. I didn't have an easy childhood, and my teen years were a living hell (even more so than normal). The only thing that got me through was singing. Seriously, it kept me from suicide many times during that awful time. I can remember thinking that "if I die, my music will die with me. I can't kill my music. I'm going to show them..."

Later, I  started studying music and song at a local school, and in the end of this time I was admitted into the local opera choir (I am their youngest member, which is really cool). I finally know what I want to devote my life to now; Opera is my life. The music, the costumes, the glamour, the magic. I am going to be on the opera stage as a professional singer, even if it's the last thing I do. After two years caught up in the sparkling world of Opera I can't help but dream about it and wish for it to continue. Keep the magic going - the show must go on.
