I Am a Single Mother
My son attended his very first riding clinic yesterday...as a spectator.. he was invited by my boss, (who was actually riding) because she knew my weekends belong to my son, and it was either bring him, or go by herself... The night before, i drilled him in manners... "nice to meet you Mr/mrs... "
we bought her a favorite flower, which he presented to her with a "thank you for inviting me... lol... these are very nice, very old school, very english type people.. and i wanted to make gol' durn sher... my son didn't alienate me... lol... i enjoy my little bit western pleasure, calf roping team penning, cutting, little bit hunter, jumper, eventing, foxhunting, dressage, ect.. and he did splendedly... he did mistakenly call her Mr.... but then she would call him sweety, or darling and he would patiently tell her that his name was ..... i think they both either came to a truce, or got too tired to correct each other by the end of the day.
He flirted with the girls on thier ponies. Watched them walk trot and canter countless times around the ring,, declared it the most boring race he's ever seen.. Tried to get them to give him a ride, got mad because they wouldn't share, and finally declared in his own high, but detemined voice with his arms crossed, little legs in a wide stance, and feet in cowboy boots....." I WANT MY OWN HORSE. " oh boy... am i in trouble.. as for me..... after pretty much watching out for an 80 yr old (stubborn) lady.. a 4 yr old (stubborn) son, and a 10 yr old (stubborn) horse..... i'm glad boss liked son and son behaved, but i'm hoping they don't meet up all that often...nothing but trouble. ;)))
