Difficult But Worth It

I am a stay at home mom ,my daughter is starting 1st grade this year & my son is three. I won't lie and say its always wonderful, but I have never worked so hard and committed myself to anything this much in my life. It is so rewarding to have such a closeness with my kids & know when they look back on their childhood they will know mommy was always there,she put me first and she wanted to be with me. It is a choice of sacrifice, it can feel overwhelming and alienating, but I didn't have my children to let other people raise them . Please understand this is my specific situation & choice, I completely understand that in our economy many parents both have to work & coming from preschool teaching I know their are many great programs out there that are great alternatives for kids . I also think if you are seriously suffering mentally & emotionally from staying at home please look at other options, you could do yourself and your children more harm than good by staying at home. Don't ever let your spouse or family bully or guilt you into staying at home while you have young children. The choice has to be yours. For me this was the right choice and it isn't glamorous but I have found it to be very rewarding . Somedays they drive me crazy,they are so much work, but they are so funny and loving I'm so proud to be the one who gets to experience this with them. So I encourage everyone to hang in there, you're not alone:)
