I Am a Teacher

I'm a frank, rambunctious, active teacher. Or..I will be in December.

I expect all of my students to go--high. To surpass their levels and master things previous teachers felt unreachable. I push and push and push. And when they think they've had enough--I push even more. I know all students are very smart. All of them. Not a single one can't do what they need to do--and this occurs only when a teacher has worked herself to the bones.

    I start Block 4--that's total internship--in just a couple of short weeks.



    I'm excited!



    At first I was nervous, but now I'm just ready to get back into a classroom--my natural setting. :)

    Raising the bar is so much better than lowering it. When you raise it, students will rise to the occasion! Just remember to give them the support they need, especially the ones who may not learn in traditional ways...they're not dumb, just different learners.



    Best of luck in the teaching field. It can be truly rewarding!

    Very good, I applaud your efforts. Young people have so much incredible resources to put to use, and you are so right to want to stretch their boundaries farther than even they can imagine. It makes them better adults and human brings.
