16, Pregnant & Happy

In April, i found out i was pregnant. I hid it from my mom until i was about 2 months. I didn't want her to feel like i betrayed her and i felt like if i told her, she'd kick me out. But i told her eventually, of course she was mad at first but she soon warmed up to the idea. That was in May, its September and i am 26 weeks pregnant and expecting a baby girl in December. Her father on the other hand, is 19 and rude. He claims he wants to be there for his daughter but he hasn't came to any of my appointments nor has he tried to better himself as a person, for him and his daughter. I'm genuinely happy, with being pregnant, even at 16 its a blessing. Sure people stare her and there but i don't let that bring me down. Everyone makes mistakes and mines happens to be beautiful. I love my daughter with all my heart and I'm going to make something of myself :)

I wish you the best of success with your daughter. She sounds like she's getting lucky to have you as a mom! :-)

Hey, girl! Good for you! Stick to the goals you set. My daughter got pregnant shortly after her 16th birthday. I told her then that she should never forget that she made a mistake and to learn from it, but not to ever think that beautiful granddaughter of mine is a mistake. That was January of 2011. Now Gracelynn Dawn will be a year old next Saturday. She is the light of my life. In fact, she saved my life :-). Since Gracie was born, my daughter has had to rearrange her life. She found that high school drama wasn't worth it and she chooses who she is friends with more carefully. The father will probably not grow up enough to be a daddy for years to come. He was also 19 when Gracie was born. Saige has found a boyfriend that cares deeply about both of them. They're pretty happy.
Now, girl, some things to remember that we have already gone through. Please don't take your parents for granted. Just because they are now okay with what is now out of their control doesn't mean they're you're daughter's 2nd set of parents . We love watching Gracie and we are doing all we can to help and make sure she graduates from high-school. Saige wants to be a nurse and started classes for it, but couldn't keep up. Now she'll do them on line at her own pace. Something else I told her, no matter how much she wants to be, she is not a teenager anymore. She's thrown herself into being an adult headfirst. All in all, she is a terrific mother and really enjoys motherhood. She appreciates what we do for them and fry's hard to be a good young adult. Next is a job. Uh -o. ;°} we'll see how that goes. :) good luck with her mother by her side a girl can do anything.

Thats good that you are keeping your head up through this process. This is a hard thing to go through but you can do it! If you need to talk or just vent about anyhing that you are going through feel free to message me. Its a good feeling when you can talk to someone who can relate to your story and who is a young parent also.
