Life flows by like an endless river, time passing before me; yet none of the currents seem to manage to make me shift even slightly in a direction. I'm caught in a web of timelessness, forever the same; I cry out for change, to shift and twist and become who I truly am, beneath this time-worn skin; yet, I stay, a boulder in the rapids, refusing to budge. The days and nights fly by in endless monotony, and so it is that whenever a scheduled date comes by, it surprises me, as I forget. I could be fifteen, or fifty, yet I always stay the same; will ever I be freed of this form, and able to go off and be changed by time, like all the others?
