know this sounds stupid, but I have been thinking about it seriously. I have access to lots of local anesthetic, sterile scalpels, cauterizing equipment, and suture kits. I have been pondering saving a few thousand dollars with a do-it-yourself bilateral orchidectomy.
Any thoughts?

 | Posted Nov 6th, 2009 at 8:54AM Save up! Check with your doctor, get referral to a psychologist and begin the process of transitioning. The psychologist can write the letters necessary to find the surgeon to do SRS and also HRT. Anything worth doing is worth doing right. It takes time and there is no quick fix. |
 | Posted Nov 10th, 2009 at 12:12PM Given the dangers - blood loss, artery damage, nerve damage, and the like. This seems like a very dangerous idea and one that wont get you the result you want/need. Encourage your doctors to hurry up, tell them you need it sooner rather then later. Then let them do their job. |
