I don't have a social life either. . I am just trying to think like a dog. You know how pets dont know if you are gone ten minutes or two hours? I don't think about when he left or when he is coming home. I just know he is coming back. This may sound strange but it seems to work for the dogs so I thought I would give it a try. Now I may jump on him and lick him when he gets home...that can't be helped! HA!

I am starting to take college classes too. There are tons out there and you can do it for just an hour or so a day if you want. Or go to the library and study a subject you always wanted to know. Make flash cards and jam your head with knowledge. It will also give you something cool to share with your trucker when he gets home.

I used to be a long haul truckers wife, now he works local and is home every night. I am truely blessed by this.

What I used to do was read myself a special book, or get some new movies to watch from the library. I made my nights alone MY nights, with movies he wouldnt care for.

We also had a cell phone plan, where I could talk to him anywhere as long as we both were in North America. That made a huge difference, we would just mike each other and talk for hours after our son was in bed.

I hope that helps, I have been there. The biggest thing is, do not let your loneliness turn into resentment. They are sacrificing for us as well, we just cant think about us us us. Which is hard, but healthier in this situation.

Good luck, add me if you wish.
