I Wanna Hold Your Hand...

So i'm going to warn you this is a bit of a rant...

I unexpectedly got the day off today which means I got to drive up to Cheyenne and surprise my man (YAY!!) Then this afternoon he left base and met me for lunch, but of course he was in uniform so I wasn't allowed to hold his hand as we walked through the mall after lunch.

Does this rule bug anyone else?? Like I get it, on some level, I do. But after spending a crap ton of time apart it would be nice to hold his hand the rare moments we do get together. I don't think I'm asking too much, it's not like I want to make out with him in the middle of chick-fil-a. I just want to hold his hand. That's all I'm asking. And it really frustrates me that I can't.

Of all the tough things we have to get thru this is the one thing that still gets to me sometimes lol go figure.

I feel you..This weekend i went to see my soldier and i couldnt hold his hand or kiss him when ever i wanted it was really bad bc i dont get to see him often and the rules dont make it easyer on us.

Here's the thing... it's just the rules. I hear lots of girls complain about this one (and it doesn't make me happy either) but when they're in their uniform they are representing the US and not any other part of their lives. Every woman with a significant other in the military has to go through this. Honestly, the military doesn't care how long it's been since you've seen each other... Just like they don't care if a fiancee has to miss his wedding or a husband has to miss the birth of his child because they're deployed or just have some other duties that won't allow them to come home. When they are in uniform (and being in the military period) they serve the country, family comes second. Of course in their minds and hearts the loved ones come first, but it is their job to put the country first. I know this part might seem hard, but trust me, there are going to be things that happen that are a lot harder than not being able to hold his hand. Just enjoy the time that you have together.
