First let me start by saying welcome to the club lol. I think we can all tell you this is not an easy job by any means. And By job I mean being a military gf. It takes alot of patience and emotional strength. I can tell you at first you are going to hate it. While he is in bmt, your only form of communication will be letters. But that only lasts a month. You will learn to depend on technology. Phone calls, Skype etc. Im not sure where they'll base him after basic but my bf requested the closest one to home and he got it. As you're going through the motions, remember two things: 1st-the Air Force will become first, we as military girlfriends have to accept 2nd place. It just is what it is. 2nd thing to remember-though you're going to cry/miss him etc., he is probably struggling more. You have to be his strength and his ultimate support system. Hide your weakness. And when you are feeling weak and lonely, you have all of us ladies who know your pain. We will be here to support YOU. Good luck girl. Enjoy him while ya got him home.
