Security Forces.

Okkkk so..Im half way through BMT && Richard has done a fabulous job of not telling me what his job is. I just got off the phone with him and I made him tell me what his job is, and its Security Forces...Literally my heart dropped. I was like "well your *** made sure you kept that from me!!!" Then I started to cuss him out, but then I remembered where he was at..and that this wasnt just one of our petty arguments at home. =( So now I have a complete headache && I cant focus..because I dont know exactly what security forces is..

Hello everyone. I am 18 and enlisting in 2013. I really have an interest in security forces. I was reading the comments and one mentioned that you go to war. My recruiter said you deploy but it is an on ba<x>se job that you are not required to go to combat. From the desc<x>ription it seemed like an NCIS sort of thing , which I love Forensic Science. Combat is not for me. I wanted to join security Forces because it was an on-ba<x>se job. So, do you go to war or not? Someone please help me. :) I appreciate all of the USAF Soldiers. I am currently a cadet SSGT in Civil Air Partol :) Thankyou for all of your service and help.

Well when he's in Tech School, you'll get more info on that. If he says he has PRP, he won't get deployed, but if he doesn't get that, then he will more than likely be deployed. <br />
With Jordan, after his graduation, he gets to come home for I believe, 22 days, and then he goes to his first duty station. And that's if he takes his RAP duty. If he didn't or if he lost it, then it'd only be 10 days before he'd have to leave.

probably just confused on the deployment part. And how long will it be after he leaves Tech and goes to his base?

You're welcome sweetie :) What exactly are you confused about?

Thank you!! that was very comforting!

SF is an Air Force police officer. Everything that civilian police do, SF does. My Boyfriend is also SF. <br />
My advice to you:<br />
stay calm when talking to him, let him know how you feel, but don't make him feel bad. You can freak out all you want when he is not around. Be strong for your man! I know it sucks sometimes, but remember that he is worth it!<br />
They say the hardest job in the military, is being a military wife (i like to think this applies to S/O, also). But its worth it, HES worth it! <br />
Feel free to e-mail, if you need to

Ohhh brother! Well thanks hunni. Im soo confused right now. Yuck.

Well if he gets PRP, which mean guarding nuclear missles, he most likely will not get deployed because it's considered deployment on location. But if he doesn't get PRP, then yes, there is a good chance he will get deployed. Security Forces has the highest deployment rate, but it's only because there are so many people in it. They have a 6 month on, 6 months off deployment schedule. They get put on this deployment list. First, the air force chooses those who volunteered to go first. Then, they go through the list and randomly select people. So he may or may not even get deployed, it all just depends. But in his first few years, the chances of getting deployed are pretty good. It also depends on where he's stationed at too. I know east coast bases deploy more often. They'll go overseas for 6 months, and then after that 6 months they are guaranteed to stay home for 6 months. After that 6 months is up, they just go back on the list and go through the same random picking process. One thing though, is that only 8 people in SF has died in this war, so there's one thing you won't really have to worry about. It'll just be the distance and time apart that'll suck.

And yea Devon, idk..maybe he is just hoping. Ugh. I hate all of this! <br />

AirmanNettsGirl...so do they go to war??

Security forces is basically law enforcement. Jordan has been in tech school for a little over a month now for security forces, so if you have any questions about it feel free to ask me. If I don't know the answer I can surely ask Jordan! :)

How is he sure? As far as I know he wont know for sure until week 8. (Unless he's in the guard) Maybe he's just HOPING for security forces. But it doesnt necessarily mean thats what he'll get....so dont freak out yet :) But to answer your question, security forces is like an Air Force cop. But thats really all I know...there are a TON of security forces girls on here who will have much more answers for you than I do lol :)
