First Deployment

My boyfriend has currently been deployed for one month. We have been together 11 months today, and our relationship has been put through more than a relationship should be at only 11 months. We have 11 months to go, and it's just hard to think that he is going to miss an entire year of our life together. I know in the big picture that's not a lot... at least that's what my friends && family keep telling me. I don't think it's the same for them because they haven't gone through this. I've found it to be a lot easier to talk to a couple of the girlfriends/wives of the guys that are currently deployed with my boyfriend, but for a lot of them, this is their first deployment too. It's nice to talk to them and realize that they are going through the same thing, but I'm kind of hoping for some advice on how to make it easier besides staying busy and savoring every moment that I get to talk to him or Skype with him. Message me on here if you have some advice or anything. I would appreciate it so much! :)

Sweetie, look on the bright side. Atleast you get to skype and talk to him..some of us aren't that lucky. No phone calls for months. The only contact is letters, and we all know how THAT gets. Just try to look at the bright side when you think about it, you'll get through it!! Surround yourself with people who will help you, not bring you down. This should be just another obstacle, and if your love is strong enough, you will make it. =)
