i everyone, I'm new to the site but wished to share my experience with others like me. My name is Taryn and I'm twenty years old. I am a student in North Carolina.
My boyfriend just went to Iraq about three months ago, and before was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. Of course, it's hard being away from him, but all I can do is wish for his safety. He'll end his tour around next June (2009) and will again be stationed in Baumholder for another year.
I've been trying to concentrate on getting through school and just doing what is best to keep our relationship going. I talk to his family every now and again and that really helps me connect. If anyone has any advice or would like any advice, I'm always around.

(Laughs at beautiful picture and gives thanks.) Thank you so much for the well-wishings. And *laughs* at the story you told. That is amazing. I love stories like that! I'm trying my best to be cheerful and supportive during deployment, and so far it's been hard, but not horrible. We talk a lot more than I thought we could, and he seems to be much happier now that he's somewhere permanent for awhile. He likes the interaction he gets with the Iraqi people and is really such a trooper when I talk to him. Thanks again for your comments!   |

I applaud u for being so strong through all of this and I want u to know it's very encouraging. U r living proof that anything can work and it's so inspiring. I know u can make it through all of this. and so can I. |
