To Start A Family Or To Not Start A Family?

My boyfriend is currently in Afghanistan and has been there for 4 months. Also he still has until the end of July until i see him. He joined the Army as an Infantryman when he was 21 years old, and he is now 23. We have been together for 4 years and it killed me to see him go to boot camp. I never imagined him leaving for Afghanistan. We only communicate through letters that take 3 weeks to get here and i get an occasional phone call that last 30 seconds, saying he'e okay, he loves me and he will be home soon. Sometimes I feel it's not good enough, but I never tell him that. Do you think i'm being selfish? I mean, I am thankful for his calls but I just want him for more then 30 seconds. We had planned to get married when he gets out of the Army for good in Feb. 2014, but are wanting to start a family when he is home for leave in July 2013. Should we wait, and if so then when would be the best time?

i think so yes. That way you both can just concentrate on you both and have an amazing wedding. if you have a child first it can be hard planning a wedding. i say if you really want to start on a family right away get an aminal. that way he can get use to the civilian world again since it is an adj. but also something you both can concentrate on that will be less life changing and final. but that is my suggestion.
