Ok Here Goes.....

Im looking to talk to anyone else who is in a similar position or who can just simply understand. The thing is I am an US Army girlfriend and very proud to be. I have been dating my bf for 2 months now even though he is the US and I am in the UK, some people wont understand and thats fine I dont expect them to but It'd be nice to hear from others out there in a similar position. We have spent practically every possible moment getting to know one another and with the time difference it has not been easy but is so worth it. We have fallen for each other in a big way (him sending me his dog tags truly left me speechless). He deploys out to Egypt next week and in the summer when he gets some leave he is coming here to UK and i cant wait. After that he will have just 8 more months to serve and then we can be together. So if anyone could share some advice with me ( i get so paranoyed when we are talking that its all me, me, me but i understand he dont want to talk about some stuff but when he does obviously I am there to listen,) i would love to hear others' experiences. xx

skype is truly amazing we'd be lost without it :-)

lovemyarmyman13 thanks and same to you if u wanna/need to chat

Wow ur time zone means that your fiance is 16hrs ahead i know its easier said then done but having a regular time set aside has helped us, but then again i expect things to change nxt week when he goes (at the mo ours is im 6hrs infront whilst he is in the states but when he deploys next week he will be become 2hrs ahead)

We are kinda lucky as I have to get up at stupid o'clock to go to work anyway so i set my alarm half hour ahead of when i used to get up so i can take a shower and get ready and then have a few hours to chat coz as i leave for work he is just about ready to go to sleep). And when we are lucky he gets home intime to say goodnight to me.

I leave little messages throughout the day kinda like text messages and he does the same. And when im not at work i will set my alarm just so even if its half hour its something (but he thinks ive just had some broken sleep as he'd appreciate it yet have a go at me if he knew i was setting my alarm just to tell him i love him.) On his part he always makes sure that when he can he logs on just to say hi as he gets changed into his running gear etc and little things like that help so much

When im home i have my comp logged on in the background, im obv still doing my own thing but i wanna speak 2 him every chance i get and that way we can.

A tip for you tho I have added world clock on my ipod so i know what time it is where he is, many a times have i thought damn i not heard from Eli yet and then realise it coz he is still sleeping! or ive finished work for the day yet i forgot his has not long begun (easier when you can look at a clock of where they are instead of trying to work it out in your head)
