o I am at the commisary in the check out lane, and the Army times head line is blaring DRESS BLUES BACK LASH! And honstly I have not even realized they were getting rid of the Army greens for Blues. (you know, with the back to back tours, I have had my handsful)<-sarcasm Anywho, Did you guys know they are getting rid of the greens and everybody is going to wear blues in stead of greens? Which seems really odd to me. That means say a recruiter will be wearing blues all day long? That is like wearing a Tux everyday. And blues are very pricey. If you have not read the article please do so. The other thing that bothers me about the new blues is look where they placed the combat badges on the female uniform! OMG! it circles her full breast! And if she is bigger then an A-cup her breast is going to cover over the combat patches! Somebody didn't do a PC check on this! Pick up an Army times today!

  | Posted Sep 14th, 2008 at 6:22PM Why are they doing that? I mean, it is odd... I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear blues... I personally like the ARMY greens... but hey... do we have a say so in this matter?   |
 | Posted Sep 15th, 2008 at 6:59AM I like the greens too. And I will be sorry to see them go away. First time I ever saw my husband was in greens.And OMG was he hot! But I don't think that Revamping the blues for every day wear is the right thing to do. I still feel bad for the females though, they are one pastie and a gold tassle away from making 15 bucks in our head quarters with the new blues! Sorry I guess I woke up extra sassy this morning....I guess the only thing we can do is report it to AFAP. Which will take years to process....Have a Super Monday! |

| Posted Sep 15th, 2008 at 1:22PM Oh, you can get it in the mail, or you can subcribe online Armytimes.com My husband reads it more then me, I subcribe to Millitary Spouse Mag. Both are great to have if you live way from a post or move around allot. I just thought this topic was chat room worthy! Have a super week! |
 | Posted Sep 15th, 2008 at 8:44PM Dude... I don't like the idea of trashing the greens. I love the way my husband looks in them. I haven't seen the new blues but if they look anything like the Air Force dress blues i don't think i'll like them. |

 | Posted Sep 17th, 2008 at 6:34AM I respect why they are going to the blues and leaving behind the greens...but I'm not thrilled with the look of the new blues. Really though...it's just a PIA cause the expense of upgrading is gonna really suck! |
| Posted Sep 17th, 2008 at 6:54AM Don't get me wrong I love the dress blues for special events after 17:00 or weddings and such. But blues for all day wear, blues for guys coming out of basic training? wow. I think this change is ill timed too. What is so wrong with the greens? |
 | Posted Sep 18th, 2008 at 9:14PM Ok I hate the new uniform I think it is ridiculous. My hubby and I just got back from west point where he was teaching. The new uniform reminds me of the Air Force Cadet uniform. Why did they have to change it? I understand for the new kids coming in it is just one uniform but come one all the other guys have to buy everything all over again. They better be giving us all one hell of a clothing bonus next July that is all I am saying. |
| Posted Sep 19th, 2008 at 1:14PM See that is my other point, Don't ya think we should be buying new gear or better chow for our troops over seas, then to be ear marking higher clothing allowances for the whole Army? It just seems with two wars that letting go of the greens is just so ill timed. If we were a peace time Army I don't think this would upset me as much, but don't ya think this just falls under fraud and abuse? |
