I Love My Soldier

A personal story in the experience: I Am a United States Army Wife
I just got married 4 short months ago after being in love with my husband for 6 years. We are high school sweethearts, and I love him more than anything. He deployed not quite 2 weeks ago.  He was in the air force reserves, and he felt like he wasn't making that big of a difference, so he decided to go active duty army. I am so proud of his decision to fight for our country, but it sucks because I worry and miss him so much. I've been a military girlfriend, a military fiance, and a military wife although I'm new to the wife thing. At first I didn't understand this lifestyle and I fought it. I didn't want him to deploy, and deal with all the stuff that the army can throw at you. However, I got on board to support my husband. This is our way of life now, and possibly we might become career. I've made many army friends, and I love them to death. They are the only people who understand what your going through and how your feeling. They support you and help you when you don't think you can get any lower. They will always be your friends no matter how far away they are. They are godsends, and I look forward to meeting more of you here.

Being an Army wife isn't easy, but you'll be fine. I'll be married a month to my husband on 22 Sep. So I haven't been an Army wife for long, but I've been an Army fiance for much longer...lol I learned that you have to have a lot of patience, because things change so much with the military. My husband and I are both in the Army, but he's the one that deployed. We've been apart more than we have been together, but I've learned that I just have to be strong for the both of us. I'm sure you will be a great army wife. The support you get from other's in your same situation is great, and I found that it really helps me a great deal. It's hard talking to others, when they just can't quite understand or relate to you and your situation. I thank God for my husband everyday, and just sit and wait for his phone call. I tell myself everyday that this is only a temporary situtaion, and that he will come back home to me before I know it. Stay strong and Stay Blessed!

I'm married to an Airman. My husband came back from a months-long deployment, piece of cake for marine and army wives, but you know, its still scary. I almost gave up, but I realized its us whom these brave soldiers were fighting for and most importantly, leaning onto. Soldiers got our country's back while we got their backs. That alone is enough to pull myself through and stay stronger for my man. And of course, LOTS of prayers.

Your husband is extremely lucky to have such a supportive, optimistic woman in his life. I admire your strength, and reading this story was just the encouragement I needed today. Thank you.
