Compassionate Animal Lover

I am in love with animals and watching all these shows on eating them and seeing it every where on line and suck breaks my heart. I have been a vegetarian on and off for two years but I am through eating meat...its not meat per say its animals that had to die to please me. The thing is that it never did please me. I would take a bite and feel so bad that this animal had to die to go into my killing stomach. I said that when I was little I would never hurt an animal but I did take part in it. So many animals die in a single month for no reason. We do not have to eat them society just chooses to be ungrateful and be killers. We have made it so far in society so why are they staying in the stone age?

I am gradually becoming vegan because it is torture for animals to produce dairy. I love soy milk which tastes great so I think that the cheese is the last thing for me. I don't want to take place in hurting animals AT ALL...its not the kind of girl that I am.

Last year I wrote a term paper for school showing the possibilities of different foods to eat instead of animal products. I got made fun of a lot for that and it hurt and I slipped back into the crowd but I really hated every stinking minute of it. I like being different when it comes to the way I want to live. This is totally my choice and I am proud of myself for doing it for me. I don't think you can say that you truly love animals if you put them in your mouth and eat them. Do we do that to other PEOPLE that we love? I sure hope not.

How could anyone eat something with a face? I just want to say that it took me a while to be where I am today because I wanted to fit in and the point of my"story" was to let you all know that I am finally ready to live my life the way that I want to and not worry about how I will be looked at. I wish I had people that shared by concerns but there are none around here...sadly I am alone but that wont stop me from being me any longer!!!

It's funny when people find out I don't eat meat they say the same stupid phrase "What? You don't eat meat?!" I really don't see why that is such a shock? It's 2012 and since food is all around us we don't 'need' it. Then people give me that "So if you were living in the wild you wouldn't eat meat." Uh if that was my only choice to survive then yes I would but it's not the end of the world and until then I don't plan on killing or eating an animal. Or do you love the "What do you eat then?" Like there is nothing in the world but meat. I tell people that I eat that fake meat and they get grossed out then I say "That's how I feel when people talk about meat" then, probably because I live in Oklahoma, they say "But God put animals on this earth blah blah blah." I understand but in this day and age of America I don't see the point! Don't let anyone stop you! For the past few years I'll catch myself saying "Just eat meat again and make your life easier." But then I really think about it and that's not what I really want to do so I don't. I just wish people would grow up. I've been a vegetarian for 17 years, made the choice on my own in 3rd grade. I really don't know anything else lol Only one in the family too. Didn't even eat it when I was pregnant and my doctor said that is just fine and Vegetarians are usually healthier so BAM!

I was 14 when I ate meat last time , now it has been 20 years now...The most of the people don't (or can't) understand the way we feel. ' Why, why why don't you eat meat? Animals are supposed to be eaten"<br />
I stopped eating meat at first because I simply did not like it. I thought meat was disgusting. I always loved animals too. Now I am a desperate animal defender and I just don't give a **** what others think about the whole vegetarian thing.

Very good, you are not alone, there are many of us and we're growing. I happen to be a new vegetarian of 6 months now. Stick to your beliefs, that is very important! You are wise my friend!<br />
Thank -you!

bless you, my friend. because of the choice you have made, less animals will have to suffer and die. seriously. so thank you.<br />

Good on you! It's excellent to hear that you've finally found a place where you are ready to be able to live in harmony with your principles. It's a place that far too few people ever achieve, imo.<br />

And even though you might be isolated in your community, there are millions of people out there who think and feel exactly the way you do. Heck, they're all over the internet! ;) :D<br />

(I'd say "we're all over the internet" but I'm not a full-time vegan, more of an ovo-lacto-veg who doesn't really eat much ovo or lacto at all).
