My boyfriend was also a real meat-eater, and refused to accept my ideas and views, so in the end I decided it wasn't worth it. I guess you could say that I chose my vegetarianism above my (now ex) boyfriend.
I feel so much healthier, and don't feel limited in my choice of foods as many people expect us to. Some of my vegetarian friends really struggle with the whole not-eating-meat thing, but I think I've moved past that point, now. I don't even eat fish, and try to avoid gelatin in sweets, and above all, my conscience is clear, which I guess is the most important thing...
I think being a vegetarian is as part of who I am as my blonde hair or blue eyes. A lot of people truly don't appreciate just how easy being a vegetarian is. How did you guys become veggies?

Posted Jan 4th, 2009 at 6:29PM I became a vegetarian years ago. I have always loved animals but never really looked into what I was eating. I was ignorant like most meat eaters. I just thought the meat I was buying was ok cause it was packed and cut for me. How dumb! I love beiing a vegetarian, i eat no animal flesh, gravy with meat base or gelatin. Some people think it would be hard. To me there is no other option!
Posted Jan 26th, 2009 at 2:11PM hey! quite frankly i am offended. but also i'm not at all. meat eaters are generally ignorant as to where their meat has come from. i knew a girl who didnt know that ham was from a pig. i am a meat eater (makes me sound like some kind of dinosaur lol), but my older brother has been a veggie since he was 4. my younger brother was a veggie for about 4 years. and my parents are health freaks. thus, we eat almost no meat. about once a month. i love eating vegetarian food. there is a lot of choice, i agree. however i wouldnt advise going to france, they dont seem to grasp the concept of vegetarianism there. anyhooo vegetarian food is healthier. so i love it.
Posted Mar 15th, 2009 at 1:08PM No! I broke up with him because he was pressuring me to become the steriotypical 'trophy girlfriend', which I will never, in my right mind, be. It was more the fact that he was questioning my decision to become a vegetarian, and was almost pressuring me to eat a burger. Try sticking with that for five months, and see if you still have 'feelings of love'... -domitilla
Posted Mar 17th, 2009 at 3:29PM yea, some people cherish their labels cos it tells them who they are, and without them they don't know who they are. i find that quite sad. :(. have u ever heard of a play called "attempts on her life"? that's all about societies attempts to label and define a woman called Anne, and it basically shows its impossible to do.
