...meaning only when it's convenient.This is because after 5 years of not eating meat (I do eat fish, though. After a year and a half I couldn't live without it), I was visiting a friend that I hadn't seen in a few years. I got quite drunk one night and ate a chicken wing. It smelled so good and I was in central Oregon so I figured it was organic! It was delicious, but it was enough.
The only time I've craved meat in the 5 years I've been a veggie is when I came back from studying abroad in Italy. Every time I passed the smell of McDonalds all I could think of was "Junior bacon cheeseburger... JUNIOR BACON CHEESEBURGER!!!" I didn't give in, and I'm glad. I hate Micky D's and it would've made me so sick.
Thumbs up to all you other veggies. Especially for having to live answering the question, "So what do you eat??"

  | Posted Apr 18th, 2009 at 11:23PM, last updated Apr 18th, 2009 at 11:24PM i also hate mcdonalds, they seriously need to sort out the way they treat their animals i get that question a lot, but what annoys me the most is when they say "but plants are living aswell, so why do you eat them?". have you ever gotten someone asking you that? if not consider yourself lucky also well done on the 5 years =]   |
 | Posted Apr 19th, 2009 at 12:34AM Yes, "So what do you eat?" is a very common one lol!! I've been veg about 8 months now, and my plate is still watched at family gatherings like I'm some sort of curiosity. Like everyone wants to see what the vegetarian can scrounge up to eat! |

Haven't managed to make a complete switch yet. I'll try it out when I go to live on a boarding school for 5 months. We can check the "vegetarian diet" box on the papers they send us before the semester starts. Go you! :) |
