Poetry From Abused Child

I wrote this poem when I was in primary school (what most of you will probably related to as grade school.)  It was the first time I ever allowed myself to put any sort of feelings to what was happening. (Back when I thought poetry had to rhyme.)

Never trust the sandman

The king of all your dreams

He may seam sweat and innocent

But he’s not what he seams

Never trust the sandman

Never close your eyes

Never let one be alone

With the man that I despise

Never trust the sandman

Never let him down

Never allow yourself to feel

Or in the pain you’ll drown

Never trust the sandman

And if they ask just lie

For you’ll never be free of him

Not until you die.
