I Love Weight Lifting...Growing up, I wasn't allowed to participate in any sports. I was very lean and my grandmother and mother were concerned that I might get injured. I watched WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) since I was in my pre-teens. I admired the strength of the women wrestlers like "The Great Moolah" and Wendi Richter. I wanted to be strong physically, spiritually, and mentally.
When I turned 18 years old, I purchased my first set of 5 pound dumbbells. I've been lifting now for over 20 years. I lift weights, utilize weight machines, and even utilize my dancing pole to do pull ups and mid-air crunches. I also do yoga for flexibility.
Unintentionally, I have very little body fat, but carry a good amount of muscle mass. I eat very clean...no high fructose corn syrup, wheat, preservatives, or artificial ingredients. I love my daily 40 ounce green smoothies.
I would tell any woman do not be afraid to be strong...strength helps us to deal with obstacles that are placed in our daily lives.
